Traveling during COVID

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!

I do hope folks are doing well and trying to enjoy the rest of the summer under this new normal. Despite a pandemic that has ravaged most of the world, travel still continues to move forward both domestically and also internationally.

Many folks have reached out and asked for recommendations on where they can go and honestly it really depends on a couple of factors:

State Quarantine Restrictions: CNN has a great article from August 5th that highlights the states with the most severe travel restrictions https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/us-state-travel-restrictions-covid-19/index.html

International Travel Bans: I would strongly recommend you follow US State Department’s recommendation of checking with the embassy/consulate of the country that you’re traveling to for inforamtion on travel restrictions. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel.html.

Please be aware that in some states within the United States and even countries internationally that a common requirement would be a confirmed result COVID-19 test within 72 of travel. If you desire to travel then it is a must that you find a testing site that can provide results within this time frame.

There has been a decrease in air travel based on COVID with many travel routes being reduced which has impacted vacation planning. Know that on-board services are limited in offerings at this time. Mask policies have varied per airline.

What i’ve noticed is that more travelers are up to driving to their vacation destination which may average six hours each way or more. While not unusual, this trend has put many resorts and hotels domestically in high demand. The amazing piece is the protocols being implemented to adjust to COVID. Reduced occupancy to allow rooms to be property disinfected along with reductions in dining services are just a few of the changes that you should expect to see not only during this summer season but going forth.

Despite what you’re seeing on the news there are places you can visit if you require a weekend getaway, staycation or even a full week vacation both here on the East Coast as well as West Coast and all parts in between. If you are itching the get back to traveling feel free to reach out cause 2020 is far from a bust in travel and 2021 is beginning to heat up as well.

Stay safe everyone and reach out to me at Suitcase Lifestyle Travels for your travel needs. It’s never too late to start that journey. Peace and Blessings.
